This episode kicks off with an interview. LoraJean Kelly of Knitted Wit, Yvonne Ellworth of Lavender Sheep and Stevanie Pico of Pico Accuardi Dyeworks were on hand to chat about their yarns and motherhood. Food talk this week is about places to find new and interesting recipes for challenging ingredients. Try Epicurious, All Recipes and Recipezzar for ideas. How are you doing with your Ravelympics challenge? I finished! My Broccowli can be found on my projects page in Ravelry. Here is a link to my Flickr page. The photos are not so organized, but you can get a glimpse into what I've been up to lately. And a few animal pics too;) No music this week. I just haven't found anything that is knocking my socks off recently. |

Eileen and Patti are the winners of Chrissy Gardiner's great book Toe Up! This week I cover a few grains to cook with. Breads, cereals and sidedishes are perked up with nutty grains. Joining in on Ravelympics? Come chat we me and other knitters/spinners/crocheters during the lighting of the flame Friday evening! I have a new dog!! Tilki (changed from his original name) joined us a couple of days ago. i'll start taking pics of him and his buddy Henry the very bald rabbit. Lots of details on two knitting/spinning retreats PAD will be hosting this year. More details can be found on our Ravelry group page and on our Facebook group page. |

In this episode we have an interview with Chrissy Gardiner. We chatted last Thursday about her book--Toe Up! I'll be starting a KAL for a sock from the book on the Ravelry group. Will you be joining us? There is a contest along with this interview. You have to listen to find out the details;) In knitting I finished the "Baby Mine" sweater. I'll give it it's own post so I can show you a proper picture. In Spinning I am looking forward to Ravelympics starting Feb 12th! I'm cleaning up some bobbins and sampling to make decisions for spinning some beautiful Polwarth top. I'll show you the results next week. In Food I share some ideas for cooking vegan meals with green bell peppers, kohlrabi and eggplant. One recipe idea I forgot to mention for kohlrabi is a raw salad with very thinnly sliced kohlrabi, fennel and green apple. Tossed them in a lemon viniagrette with some toasted hazelnuts. yum! This weekend in Portland the third gathering of the Community Sock Club will be gathering at Gino's for lunch. We are already taking names for next Fall when the Made in Oregon club goes on the road and locals can enjoy it here as well:)
